In Southwest Michigan, no band embodies the working-class spirit of the punk movement more than a little group out of South Haven called The Implodes. They’re not rock stars, they didn’t spend very much time on their hair, and they aren’t writing albums about girls, parties, or how hard high-school is. They simply pack all the rock & roll fury they can into some socially conscious and powerfully catchy song. No catches, strings, or gimmicks needed.
Playing together ever since their days in school, the Implodes of come to be somewhat of a musical cornerstone for the South Haven scene. Between loads of local-legendary gigs at Eagle Street Theater and putting together benefit shows at the beautiful South Haven Marina, The Implodes are a band that takes care of their town.
Their upcoming release What Are We Fighting For? (available late-July) is a remixed, remastered version of their original debut EP from 2006. Make sure to check it out!
